CBI former joint director Lakshminarayana has said that there was never any pressure on him to arrest YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case. He said there was no pressure on him and added that he followed the due process of law to arrest and produce Jagan in the court.
In an interview given to a media house, he said there was no truth in the reports that he was brought to Hyderabad only to arrest YS Jagan. He said he was working as CBI JD in Hyderabad since 2006 and that YS Jagan case had come to him in 2011. He said he had ensured that Jagan was produced in the court within 24 hours of his arrest. “This is the standard practice we follow for any arrest and we followed this even in Jagan’s case,” he said. Lakshminarayana said he had examined all the evidences and documents and only after all this, he had decided to arrest Jagan.
He said there was no pressure whatsoever on him to arrest Jagan. He said Jagan was arrested only on the basis of the evidences and documents available.
