Despite fund crunch, AP ministers prefer five-star facilities

AP Government cries about dire fund crunch, but its ministers and mandarins never shy away from splurging. Leading the pack is Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself. He movies in chartered planes, while his family is lodged in the swank Park Hyatt. Perhaps taking cue from him, his ministers prefer to stay in Five Star hotels. When in Vizag, not one of the ministers stays in the refurbished circuit house.

They are all making a beeline to a famed five star hotel in the town. Not just they, but their whole entourage is getting lodged in the hotel. The bills run into lakhs. Last heard is that the Government owes Rs 10 crore to the hotels due to the VIP accommodation.

And why are the ministers flocking to this hotel? Privacy!! Yes. They can comfortably do their behind the screen deals using the privacy offered by the hotel and all this is not possible in the government-run circuit house.
