That former CBI JD Lakshminarayana has taken premature retirement from police service to join politics is an open secret. Though he has not specifically indicated the party he would join soon, it is increasingly becoming clear that the TDP could be his final destination. His Srikakulam tour has been fully supported by the police and the administration.
Though some NGOs helped him in organizing the tour, it became clear that they were only front organizations and behind the screen were the TDP local leaders. He had not spoken about the TDP failures and when a reporter pointedly asked him as to how many marks he would give to the TDP, he said most of the failures were administrative and local. The issues were small, he said.
This is interesting since there is a talk that he would join the BJP and that the BJP had kept the state president’s post vacant only for him. Some have claimed that he would join Jana Sena because of his caste affiliation.
But, after these tours, it appears, he is veering towards the TDP. Many senior officials are asking in hushed tones as to why he is silent about stark and obvious misrule of the Telugu Desam Government.
