Runtime has always played a crucial role in the film’s fate at the box-office. Many films failed due to excessive runtime. So, the film makers tried to keep the films as short as possible these days. Movies are not exceeding 150 minutes and few films were made with a duration of just over two hours.
But, ‘Arjun Reddy’ which released last year proved to be an exception as it succeeded despite its runtime being over three hours. Films like ‘Rangasthalam’, ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ and recent ‘Mahanati’ which released this summer were nearly three hours and they are creating records at the box-office. After a failure like ‘Mehbooba’, the next film in line to release this summer is ‘Naa Nuvve’ starring Kalyan Ram and Tamannah Bhatia. The film had decent expectations on it. News is that, the runtime of the film has been fixed for 118 minutes which is very short by any means. The film has seven songs which may consume over 20 minutes which means the talkie part would be just over 95 minutes.
Well! Any film’s fate depends on its presentation rather than its duration. ‘Naa Nuvve’ is directed by famous ad film director Jayendra. So, let us hope that this film becomes successful and bring smiles on the faces of its producers and distributors.
