Nizam area is key to the collections of any film. In fact, Nizam area decides the success or failure of a movie. Interestingly, a major portion of the collections come from Hyderabad and its surroundings. But, in the BC and C centres, the collections are not that significant. In the Nizam area, two of three distributors are ruling the roost. They have formed a cartel and are virtually controlling all the film theatres.
Interestingly, all the three films that were released this Friday, were released by the same distributor. In Hyderabad, to get one theatre, the producers have to do rounds of these distributors. They have to agree to the terms and conditions imposed by them. Many a time, these distributors link the release to theatres in other areas and the producers are left with no alternative but to give in to their demands.
As of now, they are in complete control of the market. There seems to be no saviour in sight at least for the present.
