TDP's folly causes Rs 100 crore loss to Vizag

Here’s another shocker for Chandrababu Naidu. The Central Government has decided not to grant Rs 100 crore that it gives every year under the Amrit Project to Vizag city. The Centre has said that it would not release even a single rupee now for Vizag. As usual, the yellow media has begun its tirade against the Centre in general and Narendra Modi in particular. But the truth, according to many BJP leaders, is that it is not Modi, but Chandrababu Naidu himself who is responsible for the stoppage of funds.

Usually, the funds are stopped when the civic body does not go for periodic elections. Vizag’s civic body’s tensure is long over and no elections have been held for the past six years. The Finance Commission waited for four years in the hope that the TDP government would hold elections.

However the AP Government has been dodging elections citing some reason or the other. As a result, the Finance Commission has stopped the funds.
